Do not use LOCTITE Waterproof Adhesive for the following

Non-porous plastics: PE (polyethylene), PP (polypropylene), or PTFE (Teflon) – will not bond to these surfaces

Permanent underwater submersion: Not suitable for continuous, prolonged underwater immersion

High-temperature industrial gasketing: Not formulated for engine or industrial heat applications

Gap-filling or joint sealing: This is a thin-film assembly adhesive – not a gap-filling resin or putty

Application Guidelines

Step-by-Step Application

Surface preparation: Ensure all bonding surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, grease, or prior adhesive residue. Surface contamination is the leading cause of joint failure.

Apply adhesive: Spread a thin, uniform layer onto one or both surfaces using a brush, roller, or mechanical spreader. Avoid pooling or dry patches.

Join surfaces: Bring surfaces together while the adhesive film is still wet. Align accurately before full tack develops – do not allow the film to dry completely before joining.

Apply pressure and cure: Apply firm, uniform clamping pressure across the full bonded area. Allow a minimum of 24 hours for full waterproof cure before loading, routing, or further machining.
